STELLAR Washrooms S2015 Building

Specifications

Stage 1 of the project included upgrading the off-street parking, building a new district level play space including a picnic area and public toilets. The STELLAR S2015 model was preferred by Council which includes a Unisex AUWC Cubicle with Baby Change Table and a single Unisex Ambulant Toilet. The building includes an service area and covered verandah.

Wyndham CC had a preference for an extrude aluminum plank for the external cladding supplied in a powder coated finish. Lighting to the full perimeter of the building was essential for the safety whilst an automated locking system was installed.

Stakeholders

The Landscape Architecture team at Wyndham City Council consulted with Stellar Washrooms during the design of this project. The adjacent playground was installed by Planned Constructions with Wyndham CC project managing the entire project.

Challenges

The presence of contaminated soil was a challenge however, Stellar Washrooms was agile enough to present an alternative foundation design to minimise excavation and minimalizing the risk of interaction with the soil.

Stellar Washrooms was able to work collaboratively with the Landscape Constructioon Contractor to ensure that the installation could proceed seamlessly.

Result

The outcome is a high quality play space for the locals to enjoy with the convenience of public toilets.
